Sunday, March 2nd

We arrived in Goose Bay in the afternoon. We were in a hurry, because adjudications were already started. Before we went though, we stopped into A&W to get a little snack.

First, we went to see some choral groups. Such beautiful singing! We then went to check out some piano playing.

After all of that, we called it a night.

Monday, March 3rd

We spent about 2 and a half hours with the instrumental adjudicator Mike Carroll. He was amazing! I have learned so much with him. Working on the solo I played for him "Gavotte" was such a wonderful musical experience for me. I think Cathy and Kathleen learned some helpful things too.

After practice, we went to watch some young children be adjudicated by Mike. They were too cute!

Tuesday, March 4th

This was sort of our day off. We took a trip to North West River and Sheshatshiu. We had a relaxing time. It was so funny, Miss Fost bought some lottery tickets and the cashier thought she was 18! She had to prove she was older. That was hilarious.

Wednesday, March 5th

Probably our busiest day of the week! It was our turn to be adjudicated. Miss Fost picked us up around 10:30 am, to practice our music before it was 1:00 pm.

Everything never went as planned, so everyone who played this day all played a bit late. Nonetheless, it was great. We were recorded too! The next day we were on CBC radio.

That night was the final concert. Out of many people that performed (My guess is over 100), 20 bands/soloists were picked to come back and play at the Base Chapel. Us Makkovik girls were 2 of the 20!! The adjudicators played music too, it was beautiful. Since they're all professional musicians, it was great to see. We got to see some singing from Kellie Walsh, the choral and vocal adjudicator. Her vocals are incredible. We also got to see our adjudicator Mike Carroll do some singing and he played his trumpet. The final adjudicator was Brian Way. He was the piano adjudicator. The 3 all played music together.

After the concert, we all went home for the night.

Thursday, March 6th

We all were expecting to get home this day, but the flights were all canceled. So, this day was a bit boring. In the night though, we hit the town.

Friday, March 7th

I can't really speak for the girls this day, but this was just a day waiting around to get home. Eventually we did!
